Everyone who knows Karen Price-Ward can agree that she certainly has a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love. She exemplifies the meaning of service through both professional and personal commitments to people and projects across the nation.   

As Community Affairs and Grassroots Regional Leader for Southwest Airlines, Karen’s work in communities around the country is incomparable. She is responsible for strengthening relationships with nearly 100 community partners in 11 markets focusing on African-American, Hispanic, Asian American, women, youth, military and LGBTQ organizations.  Through her work with Southwest, she has tirelessly supported “Do the Write Thing” and its efforts to honor youth who have committed to ending violence in their communities for a decade. Their sponsorship of the program has had a tremendous impact on the program and those it serves.

Additionally, she gives of her time and efforts to The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, Greater Baltimore Urban League, Hippodrome Foundation, Women Impacting Public Policy, US Business Leadership Network, National Black Chamber of Commerce, to name only a few.
